To start this blog post off, I want to tell you all that archery season is my absolute favorite time of the year. For me, it all started last year. I have two older sisters and one older brother, all who haven't been too interested in archery hunting. My dad has tried to hunt ever since he could, but he sometimes gets busy with weaning cattle or harvesting. My brother hunted in his younger years, but he also got very busy and just quit the hobby altogether. This actually worked out very good for me because he is left-handed just like me, so I got his old bow. Just last year is when I started to get to know more about how deer act during the rut. The rut is the breeding season for deer, so the bucks get very oblivious once they find a doe because they pretty much commit to that doe and follow it around no matter the circumstance. This makes it easier for hunters because the buck's main focus is the doe and they aren't as focused on the hunters sitting around them. Anyways, my dad eventually taught me the basics, I started practicing my bow with the practice targets, and I eventually got to sit in the blind for the first time.
